About Me

   Hi, I’m Catherine Eastman — a passionate sports media professional originally from Newport Beach, California, now based in Los Angeles as I pursue my dream career in live sports production.

  I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, a minor in Sports Management, and a Carmical Sports Media Certificate. My academic background gave me hands-on exposure to both public relations strategy and the fast-paced world of sports journalism.

  Currently, I work as a Production Assistant in the Highlights Department at FOX Sports, where I’ve developed a sharp eye for storytelling and the ability to identify key moments across a variety of sports. I’ve gained technical skills in media clipping, logging, and organizing through Intelligent Asset Services, while strengthening my ability to collaborate under pressure in a live production environment.

  My journey with FOX Sports began with two transformative internships — one as a Digital Editorial Intern and another as a Production and On-Air Talent Development Intern. These experiences allowed me to cover major events such as MLB, NFL, NBA, College Football, and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. I learned how to write quickly and accurately under a deadline, pitch compelling storylines, and create graphics to support digital content. I also had the incredible opportunity to travel with the NASCAR crew, shadow industry veterans like Jamie Little, and gain firsthand insight into live event production.

   During my time at UGA, I was deeply involved in student media and sports communication. As part of the Carmical Sports Media Institute, I wrote advance stories, practiced live event storytelling, produced social media content, and developed deadline reporting skills. I served as social media manager for Clarke Central High School’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team, creating graphics, filming content, and providing game coverage throughout the season.

  I also contributed as a sports reporter for The Red & Black, UGA’s independent student newspaper, where I reported on live games and wrote in-depth feature stories. Through my public relations coursework, I built a PR portfolio for a real-world sports organization, further honing my communication and content development skills.

  During my senior year, I worked as a Georgia Football Recruiting Specialist, where I supported recruits and their families during game day visits — a role that emphasized hospitality, organization, and attention to detail.

   With a foundation in sports media, live production, writing, and digital content creation, combined with strengths in time management, communication, creative storytelling, and critical thinking, I’m excited to continue growing in the world of sports television and live event production.
